We’re back after what turned out to be a bit of a break.
The theme of this episode is Horror Movies disguised as Thrillers which brings us to two older films: 1986’s “Cobra” starring Sylvester Stallone and 1983’ “”10 to Midnight” starring Charles Bronson.
Not only do we give our views about the films, we also shed some insight into the atmosphere of growing up in the late 70’s and early 80’s and how the chaos of that era might have informed these types of films because after all, art imitates life, doesn’t it?
Intro: “Dark River” – Coil
Outro: “Dark Entries” - Bauhaus

This episode celebrates our 5th year anniversary! We take a slightly different approach to the horror genre and loosen the definition up a bit, by covering Lords of Chaos, the 2018 film portraying the events leading up to the murder of Euronymous, the founder of Mayhem by Varg Vikernes of Burzum. There is much controversy behind the events depicted in this film which offers a version of the truth.
As a companion to this film, we talk about the 2008 documentary Until the Light Takes us, which is a documentary that explores of a lot of the same events covered in Lords of Chaos. It features candid and frank interviews with Varg as well as Fenriz of Darthrone, another architect of the early Norwegian Black Metal Scene.
We had a blast talking about these films!
Intro: “Deathcrush” – Mayhem
Outro: “In the Shadow of the Horns” - Darkthrone

It’s that time of year again, Halloween, all horror fans favorite season. Coincidentally, this year we have a brand new entry into the Halloween movie canon, the 2018 David Gordon Green / Danny McBride collaboration Halloween. The jury is still out on this one so find out what we think of this revisionist take on Michael Meyers.
For our second film, chose the Panos Cosmatos dreamscape Mandy. Both of us enjoyed his last feature, Beyond the Black Rainbow, so check out what we think about his new one.

It’s a Werewolf Double Shot! It’s Halloween season so we checked out the 2010 remake of the classic Universal Monster Classic The Wolfman. Despite the fact that this film was generally maligned by the press and the horror community alike, we both found a lot of good to take away from it.
Wolfcop, the 2014 Independent Canadian flick, rounds out the episode.
