NECRO 177 NightlandsFestival Field Report

This past weekend was the inaugural Nightlands Festival, the official Cadabra Records / Chipoters Press festival of weird fiction and cosmic horror.  Mike Hill and Necro Quality Control Manager Rennie Resmini attended and issued this field report.  Included are some short interviews with founder Jonathan Denisson and Composer Chris Bozzone.

NECRO 175 SUMMER OFSAM

Jeff and Mike H. go back to the late 90’s to cover a movie about the late 70’s.  Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam dropped with a fair amount of controversy; it’s less a movie about a serial killer than a study on ignorance set against a background of blackouts, violence and murder in the City that Never Sleep.
 
There are 8 million stories in the naked city, and this was one of them.

Evil Dead Rise is the latest entry into the Evil Dead franchise.  It’s doing gangbusters at the box office.  This week on Necromaniacs, Mike and Jeff give their rundown of the movie.
